As a part of the International Support Worker program, I have found myself in southern Mexico with the rest of my class where we will be gaining hands on international experience. Below is a paragraph off of the ISW website explaining the Chiapas trip:
Structured group international experience: students will respond to real situations during a month long intensive experience in the area around San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. Students will enter into dialogue with people living in difficult circumstances and with a wide range of development practitioners. They will practice critical and analytical skills in problem solving, live safely in rural as well as urban situations, and evaluate the suitability of various development options.
